A Modern Love Story at the Cleveland Museum of Art

When Brittany and Wyatt began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted something intentional, modern, and deeply personal — never trendy, never overdone. Set against the striking blend of classic and contemporary architecture at the Cleveland Museum of Art, their celebration became a study in balance: clean lines softened by pastel florals, art layered with emotion, and a guest experience designed with thought from start to finish.

We partnered closely with the couple throughout a planning journey that spanned more than two years. With space to pause, reflect, and refine along the way, every design decision was made with clarity and purpose, resulting in a wedding day that felt effortless, elevated, and unmistakably them.

Designing with Architecture in Mind

The museum’s geometry played a defining role in the overall design direction. Drawing inspiration from the space itself, we developed a modern layout that emphasized structure and flow while remaining inviting. A standout element of the reception was the custom X-design table layout, created to introduce symmetry, movement, and a sense of modern artistry within the room.

Any ivory-focused palette anchored the design, allowing architectural details and thoughtful textures to shine. Lounge moments with crisp lines and soft layering echoed the museum’s atmosphere, while florals, an especially meaningful element for Brittany and her mother, were woven in with intention, adding warmth without overpowering the space.

A Thoughtful, Guest-First Experience

Beyond the visual design, we curated an experience that guests could truly feel. One of the most memorable elements was the inclusion of live watercolor artists, commissioned to paint portraits of guests throughout the evening. More than a favor, it was a personal keepsake, an interactive moment that honored both the setting and the couple’s love of meaningful details.

Every transition of the day was carefully considered, from the ceremony at the nearby church (where Brittany was escorted down the aisle by both her father and stepfather) to the joyful arrival moments, complete with a vintage car, that added character and charm. Keeping the bridal party limited to siblings underscored the couple’s priority on family and intimacy.

Modern Elements with Personal Design

We ensured each element felt cohesive and reflective of Brittany and Wyatt’s story, from Brittany’s minimalist Martina Liana gown with jacquard texture to the couple’s polished first dance — made even more meaningful by the lessons they took together during their engagement.

Planning from afar was made seamless through close collaboration with Brittany’s mother, whose organizational support worked in harmony with the planning team to bring the couple’s vision to life with ease.

A Celebration Grounded in Intention

Rather than chasing trends, Brittany and Wyatt focused on longevity, experience, and authenticity. We translated that vision into a wedding design that felt quietly impactful, one that allowed the museum’s artistry, the couple’s story, and the overall guest experience to shine in equal measure.

Set within one of Cleveland’s most iconic spaces, the celebration stands as a reflection of what’s possible when thoughtful planning, architectural awareness, and art-driven design come together with purpose.
