Lauren and Alfonso’s Elegantly Bold Wedding at Laurel Hall

At Oak + Honey, we’re all about listening to exactly what turns just another wedding into a dream wedding for our couples. And then we go the extra mile (or miles) to make that happen. Cue: Lauren and Alfonso’s exquisite ceremony at Indiana’s historic Laurel Hall — calling it breathtaking would be an understatement.

We worked with the couple to identify their priorities for their special day, and our team of expert wedding planners put their heads together to plan and execute just the kind of wedding they’d been looking for. The result? This showstopping event that spotlighted their big love for friends and family (hello enormous wedding party bursting with all their favorite people), and fun, playful accents that brought the landmark venue to life.

Party People

It quickly became obvious that Lauren and Alfonso wanted to create a day that was as beautiful as it was fun. From a vintage photobooth to heartfelt toasts and killer tunes for cutting up the dance floor, the key for this couple was centering moments of playfulness and connection.

Our job was to take care of logistics and seamlessly keep the ball rolling so that they had plenty of time for laughter and hamming it up for the camera and the crowd. We also made sure the bride was able to share tender moments with her family while she got ready before the ceremony.

We’re black belts at knowing the details that matter the most to you (hint: it’s because we ask the right questions beforehand), and we make it a point to have the photographer capture the quiet exchanges as well.

Big Contrasts and Playful Accents

The sophisticated Laurel Hall was an ideal backdrop for Lauren and Alfonso’s wedding, with playful details interwoven to make it their own. Whimsical finishes like Lauren’s fun flower nails and her chic baby blue Manolo Blahnik heels added touches of charm, as did her glamorous sequined wedding dress and long, dramatic veil.

The couple didn’t shy away from bold statements — Lauren chose classic white roses in her bridal party’s bouquets, which popped against the girls’ long black dresses. Big, romantic florals with airy cosmos, baby’s breath, and Queen Anne’s lace decorated the staircase and formed an arch over the ceremony site. The lavish flowers made their way to the table settings as well, where they paired daintily with candles and blue drinking goblets.
