According to an old superstition, it's good luck to have rain on your wedding day. If that's true, then Allie and Matt are the luckiest couple around! Despite the two storms that hit before their ceremony, as well as a quick downpour during the reception, their 200-guest wedding was otherwise flawless! The ceremony and reception were both held at Meadow Ridge Farm in Windsor, Ohio. For the ceremony, the couple utilized the Wedding Island Ceremony Site, and the reception was held at the Maple Pavilion.

Oak & Honey Events designed and coordinated Allie and Matt's big day, which took place on Memorial Day weekend, and was led by our Associate Event Planner, Krysta! As a lover of natural greenery, Allie wanted to keep the color palette very neutral and green. From the wooden slices and potted plants on the guest tables to the gold terrariums filled with rice lights and air plants, the decor had hints of both rustic charm as well as sophisticated elegance.

We can't get enough of the gorgeous photos taken by Suzuran Photography! It's hard to complain about the rain when it set the scene for these stunning photos!

This Heritage Barn wedding was a long time coming! Sam and Mike began dating when they were just 15 years old. Although their teenage romance was short-lived, their love story was just getting started. Sam went off to college, and Mike joined the Army National Guard. Not too long after, they began running into each other quite frequently due to their many mutual friends, which led to them re-starting their relationship during their sophomore year of college. In 2009, Mike found out that he was going to be deployed to Afghanistan. He said that it was near the end of his deployment that he knew for sure that he wanted to marry Sam. He proposed on July 4, 2014, and the rest is history!

Their wedding took place over Memorial Day weekend at Heritage Barn in Stow, Ohio. Their decor consisted of a bright mix of pink and navy, with touches of orange accenting the decor. With both indoor and outdoor spaces, Heritage Barn is the perfect venue for weddings all year round. Sam and Mike's ceremony took place outside on the grass, and their reception was held inside the barn.

Sam selected Fair Rarity Flowers for her wedding florals, which were all locally sourced. The popcorn served at the reception was also made locally by CrazyButTrue Popcorn. The Oak & Honey Events team was able to assist the couple with floral re-purposing by donating all the flowers from the wedding to Elmcroft of Sagamore Hills, an assisted living center in the area.

When you select a venue as unique as The Western Reserve Historical Society, you need to choose a color palette that complements the distinct space. Jackie and Joe selected Oak & Honey Events to design and coordinate their 225-guest Western Reserve Historical Society wedding, and they chose an eclectic mix of navy, mustard yellow, cream, and grey for their color palette.

The ceremony took place outside in the breathtaking Hanna Courtyard Garden, which features a historic fountain and stonework, surrounded by flowers and trees. Their wedding reception took place in the Crawford Rotunda, where guests were able to view antique, vintage and classic automobiles, rare aircraft, and motorcycles representing Northeast Ohio's rich transportation history.

The groom also chose to participate in the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Run on the morning of the wedding! How neat!

For Adrianne and Joe's 5-year wedding anniversary, they invited their closest friends and family over to their Pepper Pike home for a surprise vow renewal in their backyard. The ceremony area was equipped with a fabric-draped wooden backdrop, as well as beautiful wooden chairs and farm tables for their reception. The tables were decorated with gorgeous lace-lined runners and small bottled floral arrangements. All of the flowers in the arrangements, as well as the ones in Adrianne's bouquet, were locally sourced. The scenery in their backyard created the most beautiful setting for this special event, and all of it was captured by Mann & Wife - Visual Storytellers!

There are so many ways to infuse gold into wedding decor, that the possibilities are endless. For Michael Ann + Jon’s beautiful Hines Hill Conference Center wedding in October, they chose to add a touch of gold to their otherwise simple and earthy decor. The design was very minimalistic, modern, and organic, from the greenery in Michael Ann's bouquet, to the wooden boxes of assorted succulents that were placed on the guest tables (which were made by the groom himself!). The earthy decor was perfectly accented by the gorgeous fall scenery at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Jon and Michael Ann chose to seat their guests at re-claimed farm tables, which reduced the number of linens needed for their event. They used potted plants for their reception décor, which were then taken home for guests to enjoy! The food provided by Driftwood Catering was also locally sourced.

There are endless possibilities both aesthetically and conceptually when designing a backyard wedding. For Elizabeth and David's wedding, they wanted a very clean, elegant, and modern design that captured their fun and unique style. They chose an eclectic mix of yellows, blues, greens and grays for their color palette.

The couple selected Oak & Honey Events to design and coordinate their intimate backyard wedding. The ceremony took place in Tremont, within their fenced-in backyard, while the cocktail hour and reception took place just beyond the fence, overlooking an industrial Cleveland landscape.

It was a beautiful September day at Hines Hill Conference Center when Ashley and Chris became husband and wife on the lawn of the stone cottage, in front of their friends and family. Oak & Honey Events designed and coordinated the couple's 150-guest wedding. The mixture of gold, blush, ivory and sage green made for a unique combination of both stylish as well as natural colors.
