Wedding season in Ohio is in full swing! To kick off the start of what promises to be a fabulous season, All Occasions Party Rental hosted this month's Thursday Therapy mixer. Thursday Therapy is a place for wedding professionals from our community to meet, mix, and mingle. We're stronger when we work together - and Thursday Therapy is a place where awesome vendor relationships are born!

Julie Billiart Schools Gala Event Recap

"A Time to Celebrate" On April 21st, friends, family and community supporters gathered at the InterContinental Hotel and Conference Center to celebrate the children of Julie Billiart Schools. Oak & Honey had the pleasure of planning the soiree.

With nearly 400 in attendance participating enthusiastically in the evening's silent and live auctions and the Fund-a-Need program, the gala raised nearly $300,000. According to Julie Billiart Schools, "These dollars will be used to help sustain our current programs and services for children with unique learning needs, while allowing us to reach even more students throughout Northeast Ohio."

Oak & Honey at the Crate and Barrel Private Registry Event

Oak & Honey Events spent a fun Sunday last fall at a party hosted by Crate and Barrel. The store hosted a Private Registry Event on Sunday, October 15, 2017 to help brides in the Cleveland area create their perfect wedding registry. Attendees enjoyed refreshments, private access to the store, free samples, vendor promos and product demos.

Oak & Honey was on-site styling a beautiful table and chatting with couples, along with some of our favorite local vendors: Fair Rarity Flowers, DJ Eric Smith, Cleveland Music Group, Baci Designer, Art of Sucre, Driftwood Catering, Kayla Lupean Photography & Cinema, and Instant By Will.

Gearing Up for the 2018 Saint Martin de Porres Birthday Bash

Oak & Honey Events plans more than just weddings - in fact, we have a soft spot for nonprofit event planning. Each year, we plan a number of nonprofit events in the greater Cleveland community, and one of our favorites is the annual event for Saint Martin de Porres High School. In 2017, we had the pleasure of planning their birthday bash - and we're honored to be planning the 2018 event scheduled for May 12th! The event celebrates Saint Martin's students and alumni, as well as the teachers, staff, and Corporate Work Study Partners that support them. According to the school - "When we invest in young people, they are capable of outstanding success!"

Modern Earthy Wedding Inspiration

Last year, Oak & Honey was thrilled to be a part of Mallory + Justin Photographers Collected Styled Shoot. The shoot featured a dream team of vendors that came together to create a modern organic wedding scene - and we can't wait to share it with you today. We love participating in styled shoots for a couple of reasons. First, we get to meet and work with vendors that we may not otherwise get to work with! And also, working with a team to create and execute a mock wedding vision from start to finish not only gives us access to great images like these below from Fleeting Fox Photography, but it also fuels our creativity to plan a scene that may be new or different on on-trend for the coming wedding season.

The scene for this day was organic and eclectic... and it's a vibe that we think will pop up at quite a few 2018 weddings!

Oak & Honey Events is Hiring an Event Planner!

Oak & Honey Events is seeking a creative, detail-oriented candidate to join our team as a wedding and event planner. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years of wedding planning experience along with excellent sales skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to take initiative with new projects and tasks.

We are a team of planners and designers passionate about creating unique weddings and events with an environmentally friendly approach. Our clients’ experience is our top priority so we strive to provide extraordinary customer service to every client, every step of the way.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Networking and relationship building for lead generation
• Selling wedding/event planning services to prospective clients
• Writing proposals
• Managing the client experience
• Vendor/client communications
• Event planning/production
• Management on-site at events
• Consultation meetings with clients
• Leading your own team on an event day (1-2 assistants)

The selected candidate will independently plan between 4-6 events in 2018, with the potential for growth dependent on personal sales and lead generation. The selected candidate will be on-site for those events, and will be required to handle all client/vendor planning and communication leading up to and following those events. The estimated time required for planning and communication is # hours per week, and will need to be completed both during standard business hours and during nights and weekends as needed.

Must-haves:

• College graduate
• 2-4 years of wedding planning experience
• Drivers license and reliable vehicle
• Laptop and smart phone
• Knowledge of Google Applications
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Availability and eagerness to work weeknights and weekends

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Honeybook
• Knowledge of Aisle Planner

The selected candidate will be a part-time, hourly, Oak & Honey Event employee.

December 2017 Recycled Wedding Boutique Recap

To close out 2017, Oak & Honey Events and Baci Designer teamed up to host a Recycled Wedding Boutique at the John S. Knight Center on December 2, 2017.

Soon-to-be couples lined up outside the regular event, eager to get inside and shop new, slightly used, and vintage items to create the wedding of their dreams.

Oak & Honey Events created the Recycled Wedding Boutique, a flea market of sorts in 2014 for Northeast Ohio couples. An eco-friendly event planner, Oak & Honey Events invites newlyweds who are looking to off-load their wedding items to set up as vendors at the event in an effort to reduce waste from their weddings. The December event had more than 80 newlywed sellers!

Baci Designer creates timeless wedding invitations and coordinated details for engaged couples seeking an editorial look that is reflective of their style. Drawing from a love of style and a passion for making all things beautiful, Baci Designer is dedicated to making unique visions come to life - and this event is no exception.

Thursday Therapy at The Glidden House

Wedding professionals in the Cleveland area met in February for our monthly Thursday Therapy mixer. There were more than 50 people in attendance at the event. February's meetup was in support of Akron Snow Angels. Attendees brought basic essential items to donate to this local cause.
